BASIC FUNCTIONS
The primary purpose of the Billing Manager Long-Term Care is to manage and process claims, ensure timely reimbursements, and handle accounts receivable for our long-term care clients. They will also prepare billing statements and process payments for our Independent Living residents
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

- Responsible for the verification of appropriate charges and the data entry of ancillary resident charges into the billing system from third party systems including Accurately prepare, submit, and follow-up on claims for Medicare, insurance and private pay accounts.
- Responsible for coinsurance billing for Medicare A & B.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of billing and reimbursement guidelines related to long-term care.
- Perform account analysis to ensure all services provided are correctly billed and reimbursed.
- Participates in Medicare triple check with clinical team members.
- Resolves any billing discrepancies, claim rejections, and denials in a timely manner.
- Communicates with insurance providers and patients to resolve issues related to claims and payments.
- Manages accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection and minimizing aging balances.
- Prepares and sends out resident invoices and billing documents.
- Processes resident payments and refunds promptly
- Responsible for handling resident billing inquiries and providing customer service.
- Responsible for deposits of cash receipts of the facility and Worxhub and Full-Count POS Reconciles facility census to billing software and ensures room rates are recorded accurately.
- Upon Finance Department approval, close period for patient billing, residential billing and nurse practitioner billing.
- Attends Finance Committee meetings to prepare and transcribe accurate meeting minutes in a timely and accurate basis

EDUCATION, SKILLS And ABILITIES
- Minimum of five years’ experience in medical billing, specifically in long-term care settings.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
- Strong understanding of insurance billing processes as well as private pay.
- Extensive knowledge of Medicare regulations and billing.
- Knowledge of third-party payer contracting language and reimbursement terms.
- Knowledge of medical terminology: ICD10, CPT, and HCPC coding.
- Experience with insurance portals: NaviNet, Pear, Ability, etc.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in billing software: PointClick Care, MatrixCare and general office software Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in coding and billing.
- Ability to analyze and resolve billing issues.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
