Primary Purpose:
We are looking for a passionate culinary individual to fill the Dining Room Supervisor. Dining Room supervisors are responsible for the management of dining rooms and events. The successful candidate will be responsible for assuring a high standard of appearance, hospitality, graciousness, service, and cleanliness. They plan, coordinate and direct activities of their dining room staff to provide professional and fine dining service. Following our mission, supervisors are expected to exceed the residents’ expectations.

- Anticipate resident needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable dining experience.
- Manages the reservation, set ups and seating systems during operating hours.
- Assists all subordinate employees with any task as needed.
- Check tables throughout service times for resident satisfaction, resolve complaints.
- In absence of the DRM, may handle some tasks usually assigned to the DRM.
- Ensure side work is completed every day and dining room supplies are stocked. Reports any supply shortages as per department policy.
- Proactively reviews activity calendars, daily specials and other applicable announcements in order to predict volume
- Train new hires in service standards, menu items, use of software systems
- Assist with banquet room set up and break down.
- Ensures Dining Service area room readiness. All dining areas have the proper supplies, equipment, and tools.
- Provides accurate par levels to the ADM, DRM and or F&B Director.
- Projects Dining department needs and delegates tasks accordingly.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on the-job training
- Manage the pickup and delivery orders for each dining venue
- Observe staff service to monitor efficiency and service sequence.
- Collaborate throughout working hours with the back of the house and other DR supervisors and management and adjust work according to dept needs.
- Honor the residents' personal and property rights
- Experience working in a supervisory role is preferred
- Ability to make independent decisions when warranted
- Experience in High End hospitality is plus.
- RAMP certification is required
- Must possess a positive attitude and be a team player.
- Serv Safe is required
- Must have excellent customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Long periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to walk the entire campus.
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents and other staff.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., more than fifty (50) pounds.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
- May be required to work on weekends and holidays.
- May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired.
