Description
We are seeking an experienced Dining Supervisor to oversee our Dining Services Dept. This position is responsible for the Dining Services liquor inventory, and overseeing food and beverage delivery in our Fine Dining area which include the Bistro, Mansion Dining, Grill Room and special event locations on campus. This position works under the Dining Room Manager and in cooperation with other Departments within our beautiful Beaumont Retirement Campus.

This position is critical for the overall front of the house experience for our residents.  In cooperation with our Food Services Department, this position strives to achieve the best dining experience for our residents and their guests.  This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with our residents.

 

The expectation is to completely oversee the training of staff as well as transition staff as necessary. Must be able to delegate tasks and make sure assignments are followed. Must follow policies and training plans as well as implement the staff orientation of these plans. This position must follow all state, county and federal food safety standards at all times and is accountable for the Dining Staff following these standards.

 

You must exemplify attention to detail and an ability to maintain quality and inventory controls.

 

Previous exp. required in supervision, POS, scheduling, time and attendance software, budgets, labor laws and staff training required in a fine dining setting.

A minimum of two years’ experience within the Dining Services/hospitality field--preferably in an upscale food service environment in a leadership position is required. Must be available to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to share closing responsibilities (until 9:30 p.m.) to ensure the cleanliness of the dining rooms. Computer proficiency is required (Microsoft Office Products, POS and Time and Attendance software). Fine dining experience a must with wine and liquor knowledge.

Must participate in the training, evaluation and counseling of employees. This position will work in the Mansion, Grill Room and Bistro areas as well as any other location that needs food and or beverage service.

 

 

 

Required Experience
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word experience required
  • Previous successful front of house experience
  • Ability to collaborate professionally with other departments and external vendors
  • Must be a problem solver
  • Must be able to clearly read, write and speak the English Language.
  • Must have a pleasant and professional manner and work efficiently under stressful situations
  • Knowledge of inventory management
  • Extensive knowledge of wines, liquors and beer pairings.
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years Management experience
  • RAMPS certification preferred
